Why Chrishell Stause and Nicole Young Are Still Feuding in "Selling Sunset" Season 7

"Selling Sunset" costars Chrishell Stause and Nicole Young are still feuding in season seven. It seems the drama between the two started during season six filming, as they clashed early on due to Young's claim that Stause received credit for property sales she made years prior to joining the show (she joined in season six). Young also alleged Oppenheim Group boss Jason Oppenheim gave Stause the credit because he had a crush on her at the time (Oppenheim has dated both women).

Stause alluded to the conflict on her Instagram Stories in September 2022, long before the season dropped on Netflix on May 19. She wrote, "The thirst for camera time on season 6 is REAL. Wow. That was insanity. But also SO transparent. Get your 15 mins girl but leave my business out of it."

In a second Story, the realtor added, "Screenshots have been archived for this very moment. Of COURSE you have a huge issue with me now — not before — when you have a camera crew around you. I hate fake 💩. . . If you want camera time-JUST SAY THAT. I would have helped you get the right angle. But don't try to come for people I love or my business when you were added and I was there to hype you up excited for you."

Young didn't address her issues with Stause until season six aired. She said in one episode, "You don't take credit for someone else's work. And yeah, that p*ssed me the f*ck off. She didn't do any open houses. I did everything. I worked with a buyer's agent, and I'm the one who got it sold. Jason and I got into a very heated debate about it. She's got listings in the Valley based on my closed sales and my work."

It seems the costars' feud didn't die down following season six's premiere or even when they filmed season seven. If you're having trouble keeping up with all the drama, we break it down ahead.

Chrishell Stause and Nicole Young's "Selling Sunset" Drama, Explained

The day after season six premiere, Stause fact-checked some of Young's claims by posting a photo of herself on Instagram alongside screenshots of messages she claims the two exchanged before filming. The DMs appear to show Young asking Stause for advice after she was approached to join the show. "Hey lady! So.... Adam and Skylar randomly called me on Friday to tell me that I'm getting a contract to be a full-time cast member for the next two seasons," Young's message dated June 21, 2022, reads. "To say I'm shocked is the understatement of the year! Mainly because this news came out of the clear f*cking blue."

The DM continues, "Anyway wanted to see if I could take you to lunch or happy hour sometime this week so I can pick your brain about the countless questions I have about the logistics of the show and also just get your advice on many things show/production related? You're obviously a pro and have everything show related figured out, so I'd absolutely love to learn some of your wisdom before jumping into the deep end, because I'm not going to lie, I'm f*cking terrified!"

For her part, Stause appeared eager to help Young navigate the filming process. She responded with "of course," and goes on to invite Young to lunch with the other women on the show. The "Dancing With the Stars" alum captioned her post, "This post goes out to those who love facts🧐." Stause's costar and friend Emma Hernan also commented, "WE GOT THE FACT CHECKER UP IN THIS B*TCH!!!!!!!!!!! 👏🏻 👏🏻" POPSUGAR reached out to Young's rep for comment on the messages but did not receive a response.

As seen in both seasons six and seven, Young and Stause have a very hostile relationship, as they exchanged heated words in the former. The tension is still thick throughout season seven, especially after the two got into it again at costar Chelsea Lazkani's birthday celebration in the first episode.

Afterward, in episode five, Oppenheim brought the two together after asking Young to prep a house for Stause while she was in the hospital. "Obviously, this is what happened last time so I'm going to be a little hesitant to figure this out," said Stause. Oppenheim then shared that he hoped the two could "try to resolve the frustrations of the past," to which Stause offered an apology to Young. She said in part, ". . . It doesn't matter who's right anymore because we're both going to lose in this situation . . . So I want to apologize 'cause I know that I got really upset and triggered by certain things."

"And so, regardless of what you did or said, I just want to be responsible for how I contributed in that night," Stause added, referring to a past spat they had. "I don't like where it went and I don't intend to let that happen again." Young thanked her for the apology but didn't offer one in return.

Stause later said in a confessional, "The one thing I'm missing is Nicole's accountability in any of this. She didn't say anything and she did so many things."

Later in season seven, Young revealed why she was hesitant to say sorry to Stause. "She apologized but it was very vague," she shared with costar Mary Fitzgerald. "Here's the thing, was it the right move? I don't know. Did I lose an opportunity to be able to mend things and move on? I don't know. Honestly, I should've just nipped it in the bud and moved on. But I hope we have an opportunity to have that encounter again, so I can apologize."

By the end of the season, though, the two still seem to be in a bad place, so it's hard to tell if they'll ever be able to move past their differences. Perhaps the reunion, which airs on Nov. 15, will provide more clarity on where they stand now.

Back in May, Stause refuted Young's initial claims in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. "A lot of my frustration is that, if when you got cast on the show, and you're asking me for advice, and I'm saying, 'I'm so excited for you...' you know, all these things and then all of a sudden, you're bringing up something from three years ago? That to me, is extremely frustrating," she said. "Leave my business out of it. You know, calling me a fake agent, trying to tear down my business, things I've worked really hard for? I'm the only girl in the office that has given her business and that has given her referrals. And so it just really felt like a betrayal and a clown emoji."

In June, TMZ spoke to Young and she shared that things between her and Stause went too far in season six. At the time, she also said she was open to mending things with Stause, saying, "I have hopes that we can just come to an understanding and can coexist. I think at this point that's healthy for both of us, everyone around us, and at this point it's like, I don't need to spend anymore time or energy on [this]."
